Nurses on Boards Course Now Available

Michigan Health Council is pleased to offer an all-new Nurses on Boards course, which will teach nurses the importance of board representation and explain the personal benefits of being on boards. The course will provide one contact hour for nurses and is available for only $10.


This comprehensive course delves into the rich history of nurse leadership and its dynamic relationship with governing boards. Beginning with the groundbreaking contributions of Florence Nightingale, participants will explore the evolution of nurse leadership through modern-day initiatives. The course presents a detailed comparison between committees and boards.


Participants will gain insights into the significant role nurses can play across various types of boards, highlighting the diverse opportunities for impactful leadership. The course illuminates the invaluable benefits of nurse representation on boards while also touching on personal and professional growth.


The curriculum concludes with practical guidance on conducting board research to ensure alignment with individual goals, strategies for identifying suitable board opportunities, and expert advice on navigating board interviews effectively.
