Graduate Medical Education Essential to Preserving Future Access to Care


All health care professionals are required to have clinical experience for part of their medical education. For physicians, part of this training is post-graduate: internships, residencies, and fellowships are required for both allopathic and osteopathic physicans.

Funding for these training program comes from Medicare and the total number of these spots is capped by Congress.
