Position: MHC Insight Business Admin Intern

Position:  Business Administration Intern, Michigan Health Council

Reports to:  MHC Insight, Manager of Research and Development

Payment:  Unpaid

Length:  One semester, hours to be determined.

Michigan Health Council is a growing and dynamic 501c3 non-profit that focuses on making great products and delivering services that support Michigan’s health care employers, educators, and professionals (present and future). We are currently seeking an energetic, conscientious and detail oriented individual who enjoys making a difference, being part of a team, and takes pride in their future career path to serve as Business Administration Intern, with a focus on health care. This position reports to the MHC Insight, Manager of Research and Development.

MHC Insight leverages our extensive industry knowledge and workforce data analysis as a premier resource by offering evidence-based decision-making, program development, and strategic planning products and services to other health-related organizations in order to strengthen workforce capacity as part of MHC’s broader mission.

Responsibilities and Duties (in collaboration with our MHC Staff):

  • Assist with translating the MHC Insight mission, goals and strategies into specific and meaningful marketing efforts including consulting, exhibiting, and communications
  • Support the MHC Insight team in daily administrative tasks that correlate to data analysis and research
  • Collaborate with MHC Insight Manager and President and CEO of MHC in the development of programs and evaluation tools
  • Assist in the creation of dashboards and infographics to report data to stakeholders and board of directors
  • Assist in the updating of current reports for distribution on the MHC Insight website and other MHC program websites.
  • All other administrative responsibilities deemed appropriate for a learning experience by the MHC Insight, Manager of Research and Development.


  • Well-versed in Microsoft programs with a demonstration of strong computer skills
  • Strong verbal, writing, and creative skills
  • Organized and flexible; expert at juggling many tasks and projects
  • Self-starter and independent worker with strong attention to detail
  • Experience working in a fast-paced office environment
  • Driver’s license and reliable transportation for the commute to  off-site meetings and events

Skills Preferred:

  • Understanding and passion for serving customers who work in a healthcare setting, or in the healthcare industry
  • Experience with social media platforms, email marketing software, and online survey tools

Education and Licensure:

Preferably, the applicant should be passionate about, and in pursuit of, higher education & training in any of the following: communications, marketing, public relations, business administration or another related field.
