Description
Students who participate in the Henry Ford mentorship program will visit Henry Ford Hospital and participate in skills in the Surgical Simulation Suite on throughout the academic year. They will be taught suturing, knot tying and simulation surgical skills. Participants will also tour the hospital and talk to other healthcare professionals and medical students. Ten participants will be selected for a paid summer internship to learn more about their desired careers and the next steps to succeed. The goal of the program is to expose high school students to career paths in surgery.
