Melanie Brim is the Michigan Health Council’s President and CEO. She previously served as the Senior Deputy Director of the Public Health Administration/State Health Officer at the Michigan Department of Community Health. Melanie provided leadership to Michigan’s state and local public health systems.
She also provided executive leadership for a federal planning grant to accelerate the transformation of health care delivery and payment systems in Michigan.
Melanie has also served as the Director, Bureau of Health Professions and managed the licensing and regulation functions for over 400,000 health professionals, representing 37 professions and 25 regulatory boards.
Melanie has worked in a variety of health care settings including acute care, long term care, community health care, mental health care and physician practice management. Ms. Brim is a graduate of Indiana University where she received both her B.S. in Medical Record Administration and her Master of Health Administration.
