POSITION:          Executive Director, Michigan Primary Care Consortium

REPORTS TO:    MHC Chief Executive Officer/Chief Operating Officer
The Michigan Health Council is a dynamic 501c3 nonprofit that focuses on making great products and delivering services that support Michigan’s health care employers, educators, and professionals. We are currently seeking an energetic, conscientious and detail oriented individual who enjoys making a difference, being part of a team and takes pride in their career to serve as Executive Director of the Michigan Primary Care Consortium. This position reports to the MHC President & Chief Executive Officer/Chief Operating Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Translate MPCC’s mission, goals and strategies into specific and meaningful programs and services
  • Develop long and short term strategic goals and objectives for MPCC in collaboration with the MPCC Board of Directors and Michigan Health Council leadership
  • Build and maintain strong effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of stakeholders including but not limited to key primary care provider organizations, health care organizations, academic institutions, governmental entities, employers and consumer groups
  • Identify, recommend, and implement potential opportunities for collaboration and/or partnership between MPCC and other persons or organizations pursuing similar goals internal and external to Michigan
  • Serve as a resource on primary care issues utilizing such methods as informal discussions, special reports, white papers, survey findings, presentations, webinars and social media to promote education and share information related to MPCC’s scope of work
  • Develop and manage budget projections, revenue generating opportunities, and operating expenses
  • Assist with grant development efforts to support MPCC’s work
  • Collaborate with MHC Communications Specialist in the development and monitoring of communications including synchronous and asynchronous webcasts, newsletters, articles, web content, email blasts, social media messaging, collateral marketing materials, etc.
  • All other administrative and managerial responsibilities presented to this position as deemed necessary by the Chief Operating Officer and/or President & CEO.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience. Health care experience preferred.

Experience working for a nonprofit organization desirable.

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:
Bachelor degree required.  Master’s degree in health care administration, public health, public administration, business administration or a related field preferred.

  • Ability to collaborate, negotiate, build consensus and implement statewide projects
  • Ability to interact effectively with a variety of individuals and groups and building sustainable relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with close attention to detail
